One headshot is not a personal brand

A single square portrait gets you a LinkedIn profile and nothing else. The moment you write a post, update your website, pitch a podcast, or send a speaker one-sheet, you're back to the same photo — and everyone who follows you has seen it eleven times. A personal branding session is built the opposite way: one shoot, one full library of images of you working, talking, and thinking, so you have something fresh to publish for months.

Headshot or branding session — which one you actually need

Our $200 headshot session is 30 minutes, 10 color-graded selects, one clean look — the right buy if you need a bio photo and nothing more. A personal branding session is a half day ($600) or a full day ($1,100): multiple outfits, multiple locations, a shot list built off your actual content plans, and a commercially licensed library at the end. If your face is part of how you sell, book the branding session. If the photo just needs to sit on a firm bio page, the headshot is plenty — and we'd rather you buy the right thing than the bigger thing.

Who books this in Lincoln

Founders who are the face of the company. Realtors whose photo is on every yard sign and listing page in town. Coaches and consultants selling trust before the first call ever happens. Speakers who need press-kit images that don't look like a phone selfie in a hotel hallway. Financial advisors, attorneys, authors, and content creators posting three times a week and burning through the same four photos. If people Google your name before they hire you, this is the shoot for that search result.

What you walk away with

Plan on a library, not a portrait: working shots at your desk or with clients, detail frames of hands, tools, and workspace, candid lifestyle images, speaking or presenting shots if that's your world, plus clean portrait variations across outfits and settings. Expect roughly 30-60 finished images depending on half day or full day. Everything is color-graded and delivered within two weeks, commercial license included — website, ads, book jacket, wherever the work needs to go.

How we design the session

Before we shoot anything, you fill out a short brand questionnaire: what you sell, who you're talking to, where the photos will live, what you want people to feel before they've read a word. From that we build a shot list and pick two or three locations — our downtown studio at 1200 N Street, the Haymarket brick, your own office, a coffee shop you actually work from, UNL campus if that's your audience. The session runs off the list, not vibes, so nothing gets forgotten and you're never standing around wondering what to do with your hands.

What it costs

Half-day brand session: $600. Full day: $1,100. Both include the commercial license and two-week delivery. For context, brand photography in the Lincoln market runs $500-$1,200 at the starter level and $1,500-$3,500 for standard professional work, so a full personal library at these numbers is a deliberate call, not a discount flag. If you publish constantly and need new images every month, one shoot won't feed a daily feed — that's what monthly content retainers (from $1,500/month) are for. Quarterly refreshes sit in between; ask on the consult and we'll price the cadence honestly.

Where the images go to work

LinkedIn profile and banner. Your about page. Press kits, podcast one-sheets, speaker submissions. The social calendar — a 40-image library divides into two months of posts without repeating yourself once. If you want us to run that calendar too, that's a separate conversation about ongoing social content, but the shoot feeds it either way. And because our commercial portfolio includes ongoing venue work for Lincoln lounges and bars, shooting people in real, dim, busy environments is home turf — your images won't all look like they were taken against the same gray wall.

Common Questions

Frequently Asked

How many outfits should I bring?
Three to five. One that reads professional, one that reads like your actual daily working self, and one wildcard. Solid colors photograph best — avoid busy patterns. We finalize the list in the pre-shoot questionnaire.
Do you provide hair and makeup?
Not in-house. Book your own artist for the morning of the shoot and we'll schedule the session to follow. If you don't use one, do the same grooming you'd do for the most important meeting of your quarter.
What are the usage rights?
Your library comes with a commercial license — website, social, ads, press, print. The point of buying a library once is that you're not licensing images back one at a time later.
How often should I refresh the library?
Every 6-12 months for most people — sooner if you change your look, your office, or your positioning. Heavy publishers refresh quarterly so the feed doesn't fossilize.
Is this different from an executive headshot?
Yes. An executive headshot is one polished portrait — from $200, about 30 minutes, 10 selects. A branding session builds the whole library around it. Plenty of clients do the headshot first and come back for the library once they start publishing.
How fast do I get the images?
Within two weeks, fully color-graded. If you have a launch date, tell us at booking and we'll build the timeline backwards from it.
