NVAR Studios is an owner-operated photo and video studio at 1200 N St in Lincoln — about fifty minutes down the interstate from most of the Omaha metro. For Project Legacy work, that distance costs you nothing. Travel anywhere in the metro is included, and everything the studio owns travels: Sony cinema cameras, professional audio, lighting that flatters a living room instead of taking it over.

That matters because a legacy film should not be shot in a rented conference room. The right location is the kitchen where the recipes were invented, the garage with forty years of tools in it, the chair by the window at the care facility. When the camera comes to the person, you get the person — comfortable, surrounded by their own life, talking the way they actually talk.

A phone video gets lost in a camera roll. A legacy film is different: your mother, your grandfather, your husband — on a cinema camera, with a proper microphone, in the place that sounds like them. That is what we drive to Omaha to make. The drive is our problem, not yours.

The full line comes to the metro at the same prices it carries in Lincoln. Video letters start at $750 — one person, on a cinema camera, saying the things that deserve to outlast them. A full legacy film starts at $2,500: a real interview documentary, professionally shot and edited, with every master delivered. Memorial and event coverage starts at $500 for families who want the day itself preserved with dignity. Livestreams and tribute edits start at $300, and when a service date demands it, a tribute edit turns around in 48 to 72 hours.

Which service fits depends on the situation. A healthy grandparent with time to tell the whole story is a different project than a family with a service on Saturday, and we will tell you plainly which one you need — including when the smaller, less expensive option is the right call. What this page exists to say is simple: all of it is available in Omaha, at your address, with no travel line on the invoice.

At Home, in Hospice, Across the Metro

Some legacy interviews happen at a dining-room table in Dundee. Some happen in a hospice room, where energy is limited and a film crew is the last thing a family wants to manage. We built the workflow for both. The kit is small enough to set up in a bedroom and quiet enough to leave the room feeling like a room. We coordinate with facility staff, schedule around care routines instead of through them, and keep sessions short — two good half-hours beat one exhausting afternoon. If someone tires, we stop. The footage waits. The pressure never lands on the person in the chair.

When there is more time and more health, we go bigger: multiple locations, the old neighborhood, the family business, the house everyone was raised in. Elkhorn to Bellevue, Benson to Papillion — if it is part of the story and it is in the metro, we will film there. The questions nobody thinks to ask until they can't — that is the material worth driving for.

Coordinating with Omaha Funeral Homes and Venues

If the film touches a service — memorial coverage, a livestream for relatives who cannot travel, a tribute edit playing during visitation — coordination matters as much as camera work. Whether filming is welcome is always the venue's call — most Omaha funeral homes and places of worship allow it when the coordination is handled in advance, and we handle that coordination. Before the day, we contact the funeral director or venue coordinator to confirm where we can stand, how the house audio works, and any rules of the room, so nothing about our presence becomes the family's problem.

We work respectfully within any tradition — religious, secular, military honors, or something entirely your family's own. We dress and behave like guests, because we are. Discreet placement, no lights in anyone's eyes, no direction called across a chapel. The goal is footage the family is grateful for and a presence nobody remembers noticing.

You Keep Everything. We Keep a Backup. No One Else Sees It.

On day one, you receive full copies of everything — the finished films and all master footage — on a drive and in private cloud storage. Nothing is held back, watermarked, or parked behind a future fee. The film is yours in the fullest sense of the word.

We also hold the masters in the NVAR archive on redundant storage, under a written ten-year minimum. If the drive fails, if a cloud account lapses, if a copy is needed years from now, you — or the people you designate — can retrieve it.

Privacy is the default, not an add-on. Legacy recordings are never portfolio material. We do not post clips, screen excerpts for prospects, or reference your family's film anywhere. It is released only to the people you name in writing. One honest note: families sometimes ask how a film like this fits into a will or an estate plan. We are filmmakers, not attorneys, and nothing here is legal advice. What we can promise is simpler — the film will exist, it will be safe, and it will be exactly as private as you decide.
